My charity help section.
Kids’n cancer is a Chesterfield based UK charity that have stepped in to help five year old Ashya King to receive Proton Beam Therapy.
They also help and have helped other kids in UK get this therapy when it has been denied by the NHS.
Their intentions have certainly brought this issue to wide public awareness.
Can we help this charity to help others?
Please donate if you can and find out more about Proton Therapy and it’s benefits for all of us and particularly for children.
Please note! No donations are ever collected on this website.
All donations are directly received by www.kidsncancer.org.uk
Thanks for reading my pleading!
I guess that This Morning must be trying to put people off from entering! I cannot imagine any right minded person spending money on entering a competition (which has only a one in some millions chance of winning) when there are so many FREE to enter competitions around. Paying to enter (even a stamp) seems to me to be a way to get poor quickly, not rich.
I SHALL JUST STOP WATCHING DAYBREAK. NO FREE COMP/ NO WATCH PROGRAM. SIMPLE. DPJ777.
Well commented Pat. It seems to me that ITV (plusChannel 4 & 5) could indeed put people off entering by post as a legally required ‘free’ option. It’s quite disappointing in this day and age of the internet. I’ll be writing a post about it soon and I’ve contacted ITV.com for some information as to why this sudden turnaround. It will be interesting to hear what they say. I’ll keep you all posted. Meanwhile, I’ll soon be adding other related prizes with free online entry to keep you all interested. I’m sure the law makers will get wind of what the TV companies are doing and then update the existing Gambling Act 2005 that deems a postal entry as a free entry. It could be that all commercial TV competitions will follow and do the same. Can you imagine… every other show as a means of luring people to gamble! Watch this space. Good luck, Martin
No point watching now.
Obviously revenues are falling, so they are trying to make competitors use the highly overpriced phone and text entry numbers. Whilst it’s still a lot cheaper entering by post, I’ve a feeling entries on a postcard will rarely, if ever, be picked, as this contributes nothing to ITV’s coffers. And yes, I know all entries should be counted the same, but I’d bet anything that they aren’t…
What a liberty they are all jumping on the band wagon. I wouldn’t bother to watch these shows.
Well said! However, free entries and postcard entries are treated exactly the same as paid entries. They have to do this by law or they would be running an illegal lottery.
I hope viewing figures will now fall, we’ll see if they win at the ntv awards as easily. I bet they still run the vote for us free on line so they can win that, but if viewers want to win they have to pay to call or post entries.
I can not understand why they have stopped on line entries. It is more convenient to do it on line. I find it a lot easier to do it on line, plus it does not cost me anything. Some times I do not enter if I have to post it as I forget to write it out and post it.
Bring back free on line competitions.
Thanks
I have been entering free entries to ITV competitions via this site for 3 years now. Firstly I have to say thank you very much for making it easy to enter and for providing the answers. I haven’t won anything yet but you have to be in it to win it. I am very disappointed that ITV are now forcing us to enter postcard entries! I did this 20 odd years ago so it’s like going back in time!
Really annoyed free entry from internet withdrawn, will not bother to watch programmes this morning/loose women now.
I have already emailed ITV about this and they parrotted the legal free entry via post etc. They were also trying to say that it’s not free via internet as you have to pay for broadband. Of course this isn’t true as you can access the internet for free from many places. Also, you do’t get any confirmation of entry via post – do you?
Next I am going to email chief executive with a complaint.
I agree with all, why would they want sacks and sacks of postcards. I thought that was a thing of the past. unless there making money on stamps! is the internet not the way forward. yep no free entry no watch program.
It’s surely a lot more work for them if they have to sift through and log a load of postcards for every competition – if indeed they do. Ridiculous. So unless you have a phone contract which includes free calls you have to pay. I won’t be.
Very good point Jeffrey! Thanks for the comment, Martin
Maybe Royal Mail are now sponsoring the prizes !!!
